Description
### YT downloader using a-shell.
For this shortcut to work you can either install [a-shell](https://apps.apple.com/ch/app/a-shell/id1473805438?l=en-GB) or [a-shell mini](https://apps.apple.com/ch/app/a-shell-mini/id1543537943?l=en-GB) which is a smaller sized app but still works.
Supported sites:
YouTube
Instagram reels
tiktok
pintrest videos
soundcloud songs

This shortcut is primarily designed for YouTube, but I’ve also added some additional services. (I use this shortcut frequently for my own purposes, which is why I’ve included it.)
If you run it, you will need the YouTube video link or one of the other supported sites copied to the clipboard. What will happen when you run it can be seen in the screenshots. The two resolution screenshots are to show how the resolutions get taken from the youtube api.

it works great!! a request? can you add range support for playlists on youtube? So I can download for example video 4-8 in the playlist? I am using the local file version of the shortcut.
I can try, it depends if yt-dlp supports it, if not i could make it so it downloads everything and just deletes everything else, and i will probably also have to add a second version to shortcuty where the local one is also available

You can incorporate my yt-dlp scrapper plugin into your projects to remove the reliance on 3rd party Api for link collection if you would like 😌
ah it is broken after all mb, so basically im lazy af and aint even bothered to fix that in this moment but maybe some time later, if you really want to have ur api integrated you could just fork my shortcut and do it yourself, just credit me, if you want we can move to discord

Try updating pip and yt-dlp, but with the new version it should hopefully do it automatically now

I am getting this error when I try to save a YouTube short to my Photos folder on my iPhone.
mostly is cus yt-dlp isnt up to date, with this current version it should automatically update

For me it’s not working. Error code 2. yt-dlp command not found. I have a-shell installed.
