Agreement to Terms

By accessing and using Shortcuty, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our service.

Service Description

Shortcuty is a platform for iOS users to discover, share, and download iOS Shortcuts. Our service allows users to:

• Browse and search for shortcuts created by the community
• Share their own shortcuts with others
• Comment on and interact with shared content
• Like and save shortcuts for later use
• Use developer tools such as the auto-updater to add update-checking functionality to shortcuts

User Accounts

Account Creation:

• You must provide accurate and complete information
• You are responsible for maintaining account security
• Each user may only maintain one account
• You must be at least 18 years old to create an account

Account Responsibilities:

• Keep your login credentials secure
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
• You are responsible for all activities under your account

Content Guidelines

Acceptable Use:

• Share shortcuts that are functional and helpful
• Use appropriate names and descriptions
• Respect intellectual property rights
• Engage respectfully with other users

Prohibited Content:

• Malicious or harmful shortcuts
• Spam, duplicate, or low-quality content
• Copyrighted material without permission
• Offensive, discriminatory, or inappropriate content
• Content that violates laws or regulations

Cloud Variables and Data Storage

Cloud Variables Overview:

• You are solely responsible for all data stored in cloud variables

Prohibited Cloud Variable Content:

• Personal information, passwords, or sensitive credentials
• Malicious URLs, phishing links, or harmful redirects
• Spam, advertising, or unsolicited promotional content
• Copyrighted material without proper authorization
• Illegal content or content promoting illegal activities
• Hate speech, discriminatory, or harassing content
• False or misleading information intended to deceive users

Platform Rights:

• We may review, modify, or remove cloud variables at our discretion
• We reserve the right to suspend access for violations
• No prior notice required for removal of violating content
• Users assume all risks associated with cloud variable usage

User Conduct

You agree not to:

• Violate any applicable laws or regulations
• Impersonate others or provide false information
• Harass, abuse, or harm other users
• Interfere with or disrupt the service
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to systems
• Use automated tools to access the service
• Distribute malware or malicious code

Content Moderation and Enforcement

Reporting Content:

• Users may report content through in-app reporting tools or by emailing [email protected]
• Reports should include specific details about the violation and the content in question
• We encourage users to report content that violates these terms or applicable laws

Moderation Process:

• We review reports and investigate potential violations of our terms
• We take appropriate action, which may include content removal, account warnings, or account suspension
• We aim to respond to reports within 7 business days but make no guarantees about response times
• Actions taken are at our sole discretion based on our assessment of the situation

Appeals Process:

• Users may appeal moderation decisions by contacting us at [email protected]
• Appeals should include your account information and explanation of why the action should be reversed
• We will review appeals in good faith but our decisions remain final

Enforcement Actions:

• First violations may result in warnings or temporary content removal
• Repeated violations may result in account suspension or permanent termination
• Severe violations may result in immediate account termination without prior warning
• We reserve the right to take any action we deem appropriate to protect our users and platform

DMCA and Copyright Policy

We respect intellectual property rights and comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).

Filing a DMCA Takedown Notice:

If you believe content on Shortcuty infringes your copyright, send a written notice to [email protected] including:

• Your physical or electronic signature
• Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed
• Identification of the infringing material and its location on our platform
• Your contact information (address, phone number, email)
• A statement of good faith belief that use of the material is not authorized
• A statement that the information is accurate and you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner

Counter-Notification Process:

If your content was removed due to a DMCA claim and you believe it was removed in error:

• Send a counter-notification to [email protected]
• Include your contact information and identification of the removed content
• Provide a statement of good faith belief that the material was removed due to mistake or misidentification
• Consent to jurisdiction of federal court in your district
• We may restore the content after 10-14 business days unless the original claimant files a court action

Repeat Infringer Policy:

• Users who repeatedly infringe copyrights will have their accounts terminated
• We maintain records of DMCA notices and counter-notifications

Content Ownership and Rights

Your Content:

• You retain ownership of shortcuts and content you create
• You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, distribute, host, and modify your content as needed to operate the platform
• You are responsible for ensuring you have rights to shared content
• You represent and warrant that your content does not infringe third-party rights

The license you grant Shortcuty to operate the service includes generating, storing, and displaying automated translations of submitted shortcut names, descriptions, version notes, comments, replies, and profile biographies. You retain ownership of your original content. Translations remain subject to the underlying content's access restrictions.

Our Rights:

• We may review, moderate, or remove content at our discretion
• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts
• We may use anonymous data for service improvement
• We may continue displaying public content after account deletion where needed for platform integrity, moderation history, or legal obligations

Intellectual Property:

• Shortcuty, its branding, and related trademarks are the property of Shortcuty
• The platform design, code, and functionality are protected by applicable intellectual property laws
• You may not use our trademarks or intellectual property without permission except as allowed by law

Automatic translations

Automated translations may contain errors or omit meaning. A translation does not imply that its creator reviewed or approved the translated wording. Consult the original text where accuracy matters, particularly before downloading or running a shortcut.

Privacy and Data

• Your use of Shortcuty is subject to our Privacy Policy
• We collect and use data as described in our Privacy Policy
• Public content may remain visible even after account deletion
• Biometric authentication data is processed locally on your device and is not transmitted to our servers

Auto-Updater Tool:

• The auto-updater tool processes shortcuts through our servers to add update checking functionality
• When you use this tool, your shortcut UUID, version, and iCloud URL are sent to our processing server
• The processed shortcut file is returned to you and may contain code that automatically checks for updates
• By using this tool, you consent to this processing as described in our Privacy Policy

Payments and Refunds

In-App Purchases:

• Shortcuty offers optional premium subscriptions through the App Store
• All payments are processed by Apple through the App Store
• Prices are displayed in your local currency and may vary by region
• Purchases are subject to Apple's terms and conditions

Premium Subscriptions:

• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled
• You can manage or cancel your subscription through your Apple ID account settings
• Subscription prices may change with advance notice where required
• Premium subscriptions are managed through RevenueCat and Apple's App Store

Refund Policy:

• Refund requests for in-app purchases must be made through Apple
• Apple handles refund requests according to its own policies
• We do not process refunds directly

Payment Terms:

• By making a purchase, you agree to pay the displayed price
• All sales are final unless otherwise required by law
• We reserve the right to change prices at any time

Service Availability

• We strive to maintain high service availability
• Service may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance
• We reserve the right to modify or discontinue features
• No guarantee of uninterrupted or error-free service

Shortcut Risks and Review Process

IMPORTANT NOTICE ABOUT USER-SUBMITTED SHORTCUTS:

Review Process:

Shortcuty may use automated security scanning, moderator review, or both to review submitted shortcuts. These checks have significant limitations:

• This review process is NOT a security audit or safety certification
• Automated systems and human reviewers may miss harmful or malicious code
• We cannot test every scenario or use case
• We cannot verify all external URLs or API calls
• We cannot guarantee shortcuts work as described
• Shortcuts that pass review may still contain harmful or malicious code
• Passing review does NOT mean a shortcut is safe or secure

Screenshots and Media Content:

• Screenshots and images are uploaded immediately and are NOT reviewed before appearing on shortcut pages
• Users may see potentially inappropriate, misleading, or offensive screenshots before moderation
• Screenshots may not accurately represent what the shortcut actually does
• We rely on community reporting to identify problematic screenshot content
• Screenshot content may be removed or modified without notice

Shortcut Capabilities and Risks:

Shortcuts are executable code that can:

• Access your personal data (contacts, photos, location, calendar, etc.)
• Send data to external servers without your knowledge
• Perform actions on your device automatically
• Modify or delete files on your device
• Make network requests to any website or service

Your Responsibility:

• ALWAYS review all actions a shortcut will perform before running it
• Check what permissions it requests
• Verify the reputation of the creator
• Be cautious of shortcuts requesting sensitive data access
• Never run shortcuts from untrusted sources
• Understand that review does NOT mean a shortcut is safe or secure
• Report inappropriate screenshot or media content when encountered

WE MAKE NO GUARANTEES about the safety, functionality, or quality of any content on Shortcuty, including shortcuts that have been reviewed. Review is a screening tool, not a guarantee of safety. You assume ALL RISKS associated with downloading and running shortcuts from our platform. We are not liable for damages caused by shortcuts, even if they passed review.

Disclaimer of Warranties

Shortcuty is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee:

• The accuracy or functionality of shared shortcuts
• Compatibility with your device or iOS version
• Uninterrupted or error-free service
• Security of user-generated content

Use shortcuts at your own risk and discretion.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Shortcuty and its developers shall not be liable for:

• Any damages arising from use of the service
• Problems caused by user-generated shortcuts
• Data loss or security breaches
• Service interruptions or outages
• Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
• Loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunities

Our total liability for claims arising from your use of Shortcuty will not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim, to the extent permitted by law.

Indemnification

• You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Shortcuty and its affiliates from claims arising from your use of the service, your content, your violation of these terms, or your violation of applicable law or third-party rights

Termination

• You may delete your account at any time
• We may suspend or terminate accounts for violations
• Termination does not affect rights and obligations that survive
• Some content may remain for platform integrity

Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated through:

• In-app notifications
• Email notifications to registered users
• Updates to this terms page

Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of new terms.

Dispute Resolution

Informal Resolution:

• Please contact us first at [email protected] so we can try to resolve disputes in good faith

Governing Law:

• These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States of America
• Any disputes arising from or related to these terms or your use of Shortcuty shall be resolved in accordance with applicable U.S. federal and state laws
• By using Shortcuty, you consent to the jurisdiction of U.S. courts for legal proceedings

Class Action Waiver:

• You agree that disputes will be resolved individually and not as part of a class action, to the extent permitted by law

Force Majeure

• We are not liable for failures or delays caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, pandemics, war, terrorism, civil unrest, internet failures, government action, or third-party service outages

Severability

• If any provision of these terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect

Entire Agreement

These Terms of Service, together with our Privacy Policy, form the entire agreement between you and Shortcuty regarding your use of the service.
