Description

# Record your classes and save it for later. **Ask for permission before recording your classes.** ## How it works When you run this shortcut, it will create a note in the Notes app with today's date and name of your class that is assumed to be what you're in currently. It will then start recording. ![demo](https://i.imgur.com/CECBdd8.png) When you click Stop, it will save the recording to the Notes app. You can then drag and drop the file onto your desktop or into your preferred AI model for transcription and summarization. If the recording is less than 5 minutes long, the recording will not be saved. Recordings are also only available locally on the device you recorded them on. ## Recommended Setup This shortcut is recommended to be set up as a calendar automation in macOS. You will also need a calendar in the Calendar app called School, with events that correspond to your class schedule. ![](https://i.imgur.com/eL0FJXY.png) ### 1. Add this shortcut to the dock ![right-click and select "Add to Dock"](https://i.imgur.com/dUonwJw.png) ### 2. Find where this shortcut is stored (typically /Users/your username/Applications/class recording.app) ### 3. Open Calendar and create an event for your classes if you haven't already - Preferably set it to repeat every time you have that class ### 4. Add an alert, set it to "Custom" ### 5. Select these options: - Open file, it will ask for a file to use - Select the app from step 2 (you may need to use your arrow keys to navigate to it) - Select when it should run relative to the event's start or end ![](https://i.imgur.com/uwu7MjV.png) ### 6. All set! - This shortcut will now run whenever your class starts, recording your class and saving it to a note on your Mac - You do not need to actually keep the shortcut in your dock, but it could stay there if you end up being late - If your lid is closed when it runs, the recording won't start properly and it will hang on zero seconds. Click the Stop button and delete the note it created. Then simply restart the shortcut manually. This is a mirror of [my shortcut on Routinehub](https://routinehub.co/shortcut/26817).
