URL Shortener
Description
🔗 Device URL Shortener — Shortcut (App-Store style)
Shorten any link in one tap — copy it, run the shortcut, and get a compact URL ready to paste.
Device URL Shortener turns the link in your clipboard into a short, shareable URL instantly. No app installs, no manual pasting — just copy → run → share.
Features
• ⚡ Paste-less workflow: copy any URL, run the shortcut, and receive the shortened link automatically.
• 🔁 Auto-copy: shortened link is placed back into your clipboard for immediate use.
• 🔧 Choose your service: supports built-in TinyURL/bit.ly-style providers (or configure your own URL-shortening API key).
• 📝 Optional: show a notification with the shortened link or open share sheet after shortening.
• 🔒 Privacy-minded: only the copied URL and shortening request are sent to the shortening service; no other device data is collected by the shortcut itself. (If you configure a third-party API key, that key stays only in your device’s Shortcuts settings.)
• 🧩 Error handling: detects invalid URLs and notifies you with clear messages.
• ⚙️ Customizable: add logging, open the shortened link automatically, or set up domain aliases if supported by your provider.
How to use
1. Copy any URL (from Safari, Notes, Messages, etc.).
2. Run Device URL Shortener from the share sheet, Shortcuts app, Siri, or Home Screen shortcut.
3. Shortcut shortens the link, copies it to your clipboard, and optionally shows a notification or share sheet.
Supported devices & OS
• iPhone — iOS 12 or later (best experience on latest iOS).
• iPad — iPadOS 12 or later.
• iPod touch — iOS 12 or later.
• Mac — macOS Monterey (12.0) or later (via the Shortcuts app).
• Apple Watch — limited functionality; may run shortcuts that don’t require full web requests (requires watchOS 7 or later).
Requires the Shortcuts app (preinstalled on modern Apple devices). Some provider-specific features (custom domains, analytics) require signing up with the shortening service and adding your API key in the shortcut’s settings.
